There are total 51 public gardens. The corporation occupies area of 90 acre. Similarly there are 15 traffic island garden and 13 urban forest. Development work of one garden is in progress maintenance of the existence garden and development of new garden is done by garden development about 5000 new trees are planted in the city. From 1973 to1999-2000, 1.1 lakh newly planted trees are taking care of.
For entertainment of children, sport equipment is fitted in 26 public gardens. In rankala garden, Mahavir garden, Hutatma Park, chimasaheb gardens, raja ram hall, garden, attractive fountains are constructed. The garden department of corporation is divided in there divisions. There are 24 election wards in each there is garden superintendent, labour, watchman, areappointed maintenance of existing garden, development garden, tree plantation, their maintenance, cutting of dangerous trees, activities tree board are conducted by each divisions of garden department. There is total 342 staff strength of garden department.
To train the small children about traffic rules, a traffic park is developed in Tarabai Park. There are traffic signals and cycles are kept for children. Once in a week traffic police give training and guidance to children about traffic rules. In Mahavir garden the first aquarium is developed for entertainment of small children. Attractive, coloured fish of different types are kept there, there are pigeons in the garden .In rankala lake 16 ducks are kept and looked after. In siddhala garden there a library of story books and toys collection housed in three rooms.
At Nagala Park, new garden of medical plans is being developed considering the need of facilities for senior citizens; nana-nani park is developed in the Late Shri vasudeo Belvant Phadake garden.
