| This palace is on the north side of Dasara square. This majestic palace was residence of Chhatrapati. At present palace is now converted in to museum and historic materials, artifacts of Shahu Maharaj's period are kept here. Valuable photographs and paintings of Chhatrapati, the rifles and other arms used by him in hunting and the hunted animals are also displayed in attractive manner. In main ' Darbar hall ' of this palace events in the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are painted by an Italian painter. The ministerial meet is shown as it was held in old times. This is speciality of ' Darbar Hall '. This museum is closed on Monday. On other days it is open from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The palace information is given with the help of recorded tapes. |
